Thursday April 10, 2025 evening’s dinner is purposely left open (the only evening left open), as we anticipate that attendees will wish to visit a restaurant of their choosing.  We recommend that you make a reservation immediately, as the quarter of a million festival goers have the same idea.  Or, you can attend the French Quarter Festival to enjoy New Orleans style food at numerous booths keeping in mind while the FQF music stages might play until 8 PM, the food booths typically start shutting down by 7 p.m.

Exclusive Invitation Only “Adrienne’s Salon” AFL Boissons le Dessert Party  (“drinks and dessert”) The American Friends of Lafayette – New Orleans Committee is hosting a party for AFL members who purchase either of the two ticket packages (Grandiose or Le Petit) and special invited guests of the New Orleans Bicentennial Committee.  The venue for this exclusive event will be at a beautiful classic French Quarter courtyard home, located at 526 Governor Nicholls Street.  Only a 12-minute lovely walk from our host hotel, this is our gift to you, and no additional ticket purchase is needed – and you will be emailed an invitation to this event as a reminder.  Salonnières Marquise Adrienne de Lafayette is our hostess and dessert and drinks will be served. Adrienne will speak about her incredible life. Exact address will be provided at event registration. <Dress: Dress: nice casual or better but period attire is always welcomed.>  NOTE to our local AFL members and guests driving in to this event, parking can be very difficult toward this end of the French Quarter and in the Esplanade Avenue/Marigny neighborhood, especially with the French Quarter Festival going on that day until 8 PM – so please take that into account.

OUR APOLOGIES – the venue for this event has been moved.  Due to the overwhelming response in attendees, we need a larger venue.  So, this event is being moved from the second-floor corner apartment at the historic Pontalba building to a beautiful French Quarter courtyard home.  The number of anticipated guests is continually growing and there is great concern about the capacity and weight on the Pontalba Apartment balcony that overlooks Jackson Square.  Safety has become a concern – and rather than control how many guests could enter the apartment at any one time, we thought it was best to find an excellent alternative where “hopefully” everyone can fit.  This beautiful home on Governor Nicholls Street was our original choice of venue to host Adrienne’s Salon before the Pontalba apartment was offered to us.  So, we’re back to our first choice – and a bigger place.  You will not be disappointed!  And, we are working on making arrangements where our guests might be able to stop by the Pontalba apartment as part of their lovely walk to 526 Governor Nicholls Street to briefly check out the apartment and the balcony view before heading to our Party.  We’ll will keep everyone informed on this and notify everyone once it is confirmed.
